Super Regional Play begins Friday 5/10 @ Sierra College....
The Seahawks have been placed in the Sierra College bracket, along with Sierra, Fresno City and Feather River. The format is a double elimination tourney, and the link to game times and playoff information is here.
The Hawks open play Friday vs. the host, Sierra College, time is to be announced.
Hawks advance to the Super Regionals, beat CSM 8-5 and 6-5 to advance...
The long day, which saw the Hawks win 8-5 and 6-5, was ended by closer Mike Murano striking out the side on 10 pitches.

Hawks down 1, need to win 2 on Sat.....
The Hawks lost Game 1 of the 3 game series 13-6, and face elimination on Sat. game 2 of the series will begin @ 11:30 and the Hawks will be the road team. Ace, Zach Settles will be on the hill for the Seahawks
College of San Mateo to face the Hawks, @ Cabrillo Friday 5/3 for 1st rd of playoffs....
For the 2nd consecutive year, the Hawks will play the College of San Mateo in the regional round of the CA JC State championships. This year sees the Hawks as the host in the best of 3 format.
The Hawks faced CSM once this year, and won the game 6-5 @ Cabrillo. This game for the Hawks was the initial game of their 13-3 run to close the season and win the Coast conference. The Bulldogs finished 2nd in the Gate division on the Coast conference.
Friday's game begins @ 2pm. Sat's game starts @ 11 am, w CSM as the home team. Game 3 will begin 30 min after the conclusion of Game 2 (if neccesary).
HAWKS COAST CONFERENCE CHAMPION!!!!
The Seahawks beat Canada 7-5 to clinch their 1st Conference title in 12 years. In a great game, where the Hawks had to rally back from a 5-1 defecit.
At one point this season the Hawks were 5-15 and 1-7 in league. The team rallied and went 13-3 to finish the year and win the championship.
On Friday 5/3 the Hawks will host an opponent to be determined, in the Regionals of the State baseball Tourney.
Hawks knock off #2 Feather River, 10-4...
Cabrillo beat #2 (West Coast) Feather River, 10-4 behind the hitting of John Evans (Aptos), Drake Yoshioka (HI), and Tyler Olivet (Los Gatos). O'Keefe Hall (Reno) earned his 1st win of the year as the Hawks even up their record to 3-3
The Hawks begin a 3 game series vs, Modesto JC starting Tues. @ 2pm at Cabrillo.
All road game for Hawks this week...
The Cabrillo baseball team continues this week with a slate of road games.
On Tuesday 2/5 @ 2pm, the Hawks continue their annual pre-season game with the College of Marin, a perrenial conference contender in the Bay Valley Conference.
On Thurs 2/6 @4pm, the Hawks travel to #16 ranked and defending Bay Valley Champion Laney College.
On Sun. 2/9, the Hawks will play #4 ranked Feather River College at Delta College 1pm.
Hawks split Sat DH vs Santa Barbara, win 3 game series in dramatic fashion...
On Sat, the Hawks split the Dh, losing the 1st game 3-2 and winning the 2nd game 4-3.
In the 1st game Sat., Okeefe Hall ( Damonte Ranch) started for the Hawks and was followed by Julian Garcia's (Half Moon Bay) 5 innings of no hit pitching. The Hawks fell behind 3-0, rallied back but fell short w a great play by the SBCC shortstop to end the game. SBCC won the game with only 2 hits. Game 1 DH boxscore
In the 2nd game of the Dh, the Hawks shoddy fielding put them in another 3-0 hole, but Zach Settles (SLV) threw 7 strong innings and Ben Lackey (Harbor) kept the Hawks in the game. Again the Hawks clawed back to make it 3-2 in the ninth. Mark Ortiz (Oakdale) executed a perfect safety squeeze to tie the game and eventually scored the winning run on Nick MacFarland's (Valley Christian) infield single, for the 4-3 walk off victory. The Hawks ended up winning the series for the 3rd consecutive year. Tyler Olivet (Los Gatos) was 7x11 w 4 doubles and a triple in the series. The Hawks pitching staff held the Vaqueros to 14 total hits in the series and 9 total runs.
The Hawks are on the road for the next 11 days and play @ Marin College Tuesday at 2pm.

Coaching Legend, Augie Garrido, visits Cabrillo for a kids camp...
On Aug 1st, the winningest coach in NCAA Collegiate baseball history, visited a high school aged kids camp at Cabrillo College. Coach Garrido spoke of the mental part of the game and opened up a Q&A w/ visiting coaches. This was the 1st time in 25 years Coach Garrido had visited a camp, not associated with his own college.
Cabrillo Coach Brandon Hennessey accepts position @ Rienhardt University, and Hawks add infield coach...
Pitching coach Brandon Hennessey accepted a position as the new pitching coach at Rienhardt Univ, located just outside of Atlanta. Rienhardt competes in the NAIA.
Coach Hennessey was instrumental in the recent success of Cabrillo baseball. He was instrumental in recruiting, having a huge hand in the 30+ players who were promoted to the 4 year level. In the last 2 seasons, Coach Hennessey has tutored 6 Division 1 pitchers and helped these players acquire scholarships totaling in excess of $200,000. The Cabrillo pitching staff had a 3.0 ERA the last 2 years and were instrumental in the Hawks participating in the playoffs in each successive years. Head Coach Bob Kittle will assume the pitching duties in the interim.
The Hawks will also be adding Dylan Gavin (Oregon '12) as an infield/hitting coach for the 2012. Gavin was a member of the 1st class of Ducks for the renewal of Oregon baseball. Gavin also played for the San Luis Blues and was a graduate of Santa Cruz High ('08), where he was a 2 time all conference player.
Sergio Sanchez named to All Northern California team...
Sophmore catcher Sergio Sanchez was named to the All Northern California team. Sanchez missed All American status by one vote. Next season (pending the MLB draft) Sanchez is inked to play at NAIA power Faulkner Univ (AL).

Hawks win 14-3 in game 2, lose game 3 finale 3-1 and are eliminated from state tournament...
Seahawks qualify for Playoffs for 2nd year in a row, play Los Medanos @ Cabrillo Tues 5/1 @ 2pm...
For the second straight year, Cabrillo baseball has qualified for the playoffs. The Hawks garnered the 15th seed and play in the "play in" game Tuesday @ Cabrillo College at 2pm. Los Medanos (21-14-1), the 17 seed, finished tied for 2nd place in the Bay Valley league and will be making their 1st trip to Cabrillo. The winner of the game Tuesday, advances to play #2 seed College of San Mateo for regional play which begins Fri 5/4 @ CSM.
This is the 1st time in 40 years (1972, 73) that the Seahawks baseball team has advanced to post season play in consecutive seasons.
