Statistics
Per Cabrillo's regularly tabulated statistics, the Etech program student success rates are continually 90% or higher.
We guarantee that our Etech students will be billable from the moment they set foot in their new place of employment. We also provide technical support to our students while they're in the workplace.
We monitor labor statistics and the direction of the employment market so that we can ensure that our graduates are successful in the employment market. We have 100% placement in high paying jobs.
The program's success rate for underrepresented minorities is high - regularly over 80%

Lab
Our prototyping lab is known throughout the tri-county area for being state-of-the-art and for providing a full spectrum of equipment choices. Our off-site corporate partnerships allow us to regularly teach out of their facilities which provides students with an even wider breadth of equipment choices.
Featured Projects
Home Design
Etech faculty were approached by a young couple who wanted to build a home on a piece of raw land located in Aptos. Prior to the creation of working drawings, Etech students created conceptual architectural walk-throughs and renderings to help the clients solidify their design preferences. Etech students then used Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create a full set of plans for the county planning dept and also assisted in the building of the home.
Dipping Ring System
The Cabrillo Etech department was recently asked to take on a project for the Santa Cruz Homeless Garden Project, and we once again gladly obliged. The problem: they couldn’t keep up with the demand for their hand-dipped beeswax candles because their resident candle dipper Brenda could only dip one candle at a time. The solution: Cabrillo Etech students created working drawings for a dipping ring system and subsequently cut the rings using Etech’s CNC plasma cutter. The newly designed aluminum dipping ring system now allows Brenda to produce 24 candles at a time as opposed to one.
