Technology Committee

Mission/Purpose Statement

The purpose of the Technology Committee is to review and make recommendations to the College Planning Committee regarding the development and updating of the technology plan and priorities that will support and accelerate the accomplishment of the College Master Plan.

 1. Develop a risk based strategy that keeps pace with current threats and landscape

  • Continue to implement the 20 critical controls

  • Best practices as a result of collaboration with Black Cat

2. Develop internal controls for IT processes and procedures

  • Manage the system implementation and integration that support multiple student success initiatives

3. Implement effective institutional data governance practices

4. Help institutional constituents adapt to the increasing pace of technology change

  • Replacement of end of life infrastructure

5. Formulate policies for increased sharing of data:  educating faculty and student best practices

6. Evaluate technology-based instructional innovations:  Tools and methods to gather and analyze evidence of learning effectiveness using results to change circular practices

  • VDI infrastructure and use cases
  • Hardware and software purchases
  • Technology in support of classroom instruction

Monthly during the semester on Fridays, 9:00-12:00 in SAC 225 or TLC
