Charlotte Achen started Cabrillo in Fall 2007, but also attended Delta High school on Cabrillo’s Campus from Fall 2002 to June 2005. As she has seen Cabrillo grow over the past nine years, it has allowed her to know that Cabrillo is an ever-changing campus.
Charlotte completed the Academy for College Excellence in Spring 2009 which allowed her leadership skills to blossom and in the following semesters she became involved with Alpha Gamma Sigma (AGS), and many other clubs on Campus. Within a year of doing this, she became President of AGS and after a successful year, was elected to be President of the ASCC Senate.
During her current term, Charlotte will be a part on some of the major decisions being made that will affect every student on campus. With the current budget crisis, it will take not just her, but the entire senate to be the voice for these students so they won’t feel like they are not being properly represented.
If the was one thing she would tell her fellow students it would be:
“To utilize all of what Cabrillo has available to you. Although clubs and the senate may be an extracurricular activity, the knowledge and experience gained from becoming involved can assist you in every part of your life.”
