Deadlines to drop a course

	Summer 2008	Fall 2008
Last day to drop and receive a refund	first day of class	Sept. 13 for FULL TERM* (16 week class)
Last day to drop and not have a class show on your record	varies by class - check WebAdvisor	Sept. 27
Last day to drop and receive a "W" grade rather than "F" or "NC"	varies by class - check WebAdvisor	Nov. 22
*SHORT TERM (less than 16 weeks) spring and fall course fees will be reversed only if you have officially withdrawn by 10% of class meetings. This deadline is often the day the class first meets.

Tips on dropping a course

Dropping with HawkTalk? Make sure you answer YES when the system asks "Do you want to update your schedule?" After you have completed your transaction, review your schedule to ensure that the class was dropped. Do not hang up prematurely. Wait until the system says "Goodbye," or it will not process your drop.

Receiving Financial Aid? Before withdrawing or dropping a course, check in with the Financial Aid Office. In some situations, you will be required to pay back financial aid you already received. Learn more about withdrawing and financial aid...

Don't get stuck owing us money for classes you forgot to drop! If you enroll in a class and then change your mind and decide not to attend it, you need to officially drop the class before the refund deadline. Otherwise you will owe us for the fees. We do not automatically drop you from classes you haven't paid for, and an outstanding balance may prevent you from registering again.
