Fees > Fall / Spring Terms

Fees are set by the California legislature and are subject to change, even if you have already paid us. California is one of the few states of the union that continues to provide widespread access to college-level education by keeping fees low. You can participate in this and other legislative decisions that affect you by registering to vote.

California residents pay an enrollment fee of $26 per unit.

In addition, Cabrillo assesses the following fees:

Health Services Fee - $17

Supports the Student Health Center. You may be exempt from this fee if you depend upon prayer for healing in accordance with the teachings of a bona fide religious sect, denomination, or organization.

Student Center Fee - $1/unit

Maximum of $5 per fall or spring semester. Funds the building of the new Student Center.

Student Representation Fee - $1

Supports lobbying efforts by students for their rights.

Student Activity Card - $8 opt-out

The card is valid through the following Summer or Winter session for a variety of discounts. If you prefer not to pay this optional fee: you can opt-out while registering for classes online using WebAdvisor; Unfortunately you cannot opt-out when registering for classes by phone using HawkTalk, but you can petition for a refund from Student Affairs anytime before the end of the semester.

Materials, Transportation, Lodging, etc.

Some courses charge additional fees to cover class expenses such as clay, paint, etc. See the course description in the Schedule of Classes to see whether any additional fees apply.

The following fees are optional:

Bus Pass - $55

Lets you ride on all Santa Cruz Metro busses except the Hwy 17 Express, Monday - Saturday during the semester. Learn more about the bus pass...

Parking Permit - $40 / $20 BOG

Lets you to park in student lots in Watsonville and Aptos during the term. You do not need one in Scotts Valley. Learn more about parking permits...

*Tip: Board of Governers (BOG) waivers are available to pay the Enrollment Fee (see Financial Aid). If you qualify, your total cost for 6 units would be only $31.

Out of State residents pay an additional $194 per unit.

International students pay an additional $199 per unit.

The Capital Outlay Fee may be waived for economic hardship, or for victims of persecution or discrimination in their home countries.
