Jenny Robinson’s breathtaking, large-scale prints exude a raw beauty as they capture the monumental power of exposed architectural and structural frameworks such as buildings, billboards, amusement park rides, boats, zeppelins, and water towers. Robinson both represents and manipulates these iconic structures in her work, adding variances in context, color and texture to enhance the dueling elements of constructed strength and inevitable decay. Robinson uses monoprint, Photopolymer plate, woodcut and Chine-collé printing techniques, as well as collage, drypoint, watercolor and other media to create her luscious renderings.

Jenny Robinson is highly accomplished printmaker and regularly teaches workshops out of her studio in San Francisco, at Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA, and at the San Francisco Center for the Book. She has been a visiting artist or workshop instructor at several universities and colleges, including Cabrillo College. Robinson’s work is in multiple prominent collections, including the Library of Congress Fine Prints Collection, Washington DC; Museum of Fine Arts Boston Print Collection; Achenbach Foundation of Graphic Arts, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco; Jincheon Print Museum, South Korea; and Arts Council of Great Britain Collection, London. She has exhibited widely and is represented by several galleries, including Davidson Gallery, Seattle, WA; Warnock Fine Arts, Palm Springs, CA; Kala Art Institute Gallery; and Vertical Gallery, Chicago, IL. She recently completed a Fellowship Award residency and exhibition at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, in Venice, Italy through the Boston Society of Printmakers.
