Dominican Employees
These classes are offered in a partnership between Dominican Hospital and Cabrillo College. Employees from Dominican Hospital are eligible to enroll.
Instructions for Enrolling in American Heart Association Courses at Cabrillo College Extension:
1. Sign up on-line or call Cabrillo College Extension at 831-479-6331.
2. BLS Healthcare Provider Part 1 keys are available from Tricia Davie in HR/Education Department. Reimbursement forms are also available there. Fees are reimbursed by Dominican Hospital for staff whose job description requires the course.
3. Classes are taught at Cabrillo College Extension, rooms 1520 /1521. These classrooms are in the 1500 Building, located near Twin Lakes Church, and the Cabrillo Childcare Center, behind the Sesnon House. The 1500 Building can be accessed from Soquel Drive via the driveway along the Sesnon House, or from the frontage road, turn into the drive just past Twin Lakes Baptist Church, toward the Childcare Center. On Fridays Parking Lot M requires a $2 parking permit bought from the permit vending machine. On Saturdays parking is free. DO NOT PARK in Lot M but in the church parking lot or along the parimeter road.
4. Be sure to bring your BLS Certificate of completion with you to class.
5. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Manual (required) are available to borrow in the hospital library, from your department secretary or manager. You may purchase an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Manual (required) or a Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care (not required, but highly recommended). Pre-study is required. To order any AHA book, contact one of the following:
