The California College Promise Grant(CCPG) is subject to the State of California regulations and eligibility determined by the Cabrillo Admissions and Records Office. For more information, please visit the Admissions & Records Academic Standing website here.

The Cabrillo Promise Program (CPP) covers full-time (12+ units) tuition fees for two years for first- time college students attending Cabrillo College. Books, material fees, supplies, living expenses, and study abroad programs are not included. Students maybe awarded CPP for only one year if they attended another CA Community College or received the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) for their first year of college. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.

Students are required to apply for federal and state aid through the FAFSA or CADAA. Federal or state financial aid is awarded first, and if you are not eligible you are considered for the CPP.

Students who meet the CPP eligibility requirements will receive an email titled "2023-2024 Cabrillo Promise Program (CPP) Acknowledgement" around four weeks after their FAFSA or CADAA application is received.

Students who meet all requirements of the program and have received their acknowledgement email will automatically be awarded after the second week of the semester. If a student's FAFSA or CADAA is received after the third week of the semester, they will be awarded at the end of the month in which their FAFSA or CADAA has been received by the Financial Aid Office. Awards will be based on a student's current enrollment status at the time of awarding.

To qualify for this program, you must:

  • Be a first-time college student

  • Be a California resident or be determined AB540 eligible

  • Submit a FAFSA or CADAA (both years you would like to be considered for the program)*

  • Enrolled in 12 units each semester at Cabrillo College**

  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)***

    * You may be randomly selected by the Federal Processor for verification and be required to submit additional forms to the Financial Aid office through MyVerify to complete your file. For help in navigating through this process, click here for a guide to help navigate your MyVerify account.

**Accessibility Support Center Student (ASC) students may qualify for a reduced course load.
