Welcome to the Grants Office

THE PURPOSE of the Grant Office (GO) is to assist the college departments, offices, and personnel seeking grant opportunities in order to advance the college's mission for student success, expand external revenue sources, and develop innovative educational programming and services. Our office staff engage faculty and staff with the resources and best practices for developing and managing public funding – both state and federal.

ARE YOU A STUDENT? The Cabrillo Grants Office (GO) works with departments, faculty and staff to obtain grants for district programs and operations. All Student Aid, including individual grants, is handled through the Financial Aid Department.

RESEARCH

Research appropriate grant opportunities.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE

Coordinate preparation and submission of proposals for state and federal funding (grant writing / editing, alignment with college priorities, community partnership building, facilitating institutional approvals, grant submission assistance, etc). 

TRAINING

Arrange training workshops in effective proposal development & grant management.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN GRANTS MANAGEMENT

Work with grant personnel on grant orientation and provide technical assistance in grant management (interpreting funding guidelines, researching federal regulations, communicating with a grant monitor, grant reporting).

BUDGET DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE

Assist with the grant budget preparation and explanation for a grant proposal.
