Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAGs)

for Fall 2019 Admission

Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAGs) are agreements that are written in addition to the application to a University of California (UC) school. TAGs give you guaranteed admission and early notification.

Benefits of completing a TAG:

  • Guarantee of admission upon completion of all admissions and TAG requirements by the end of Spring 2019.
  • Some universities will verify your coursework in advance and let you know if there are additional courses you should complete in your Spring semester at Cabrillo for Fall 2019 admission.
  • Some universities may waive application fees.
  • You can transfer from Cabrillo to any college or university in the country. However, if you’re planning to transfer to one of the below universities, writing a TAG makes the process easier.

Basic Eligibility Requirements for TAG:

  • Students must have completed at least 30 UC-transferable units through Summer 2018
  • Students must complete at least 60 UC-transferable units through Spring 2019
  • GPA requirements must be met during time of application up until the point of entry into the university. GPA requirements are listed below.
  • Some school have selective majors which require progress on a student's major courses. This also includes GPA requirements in major-specific courses. Please see a Cabrillo counselor for more details.
  • Certain universities require specific progress in English and Math. Check with a Cabrillo counselor for details.
  • More details found on UC's TAG Matrix
  • All students who plan to transfer should meet with a Cabrillo counselor each semester to help with course selection for their specific campus and major.
