Proposal to exhibit

Directions for Exhibition Proposal

A $25.00 handling fee is required for all proposals

Established professional artists are encouraged to submit a proposal to exhibit in the Cabrillo Gallery. The gallery hosts six exhibitions a year, three during the fall semester and three in the spring. Of these, three are fully curated exhibitions that may include artists seeking exhibitions at the gallery. We review proposals at the end of the spring and fall semesters. Please note that the Cabrillo Gallery usually fills its calendar one to two years in advance.

To submit a proposal to exhibit to the Cabrillo Gallery please provide the following:

By email:

  • 10 to 20 images of artwork through links to specific works online
  • Cover letter
  • Recent bio/resume and statement as pdf
  • Website and/or Instagram handle (if applicable)
  • Any other pertinent information you think important to share
  • $25.00 handling fee (check mailed to gallery address)

By mail:

  • 10 to 20 images of artwork in .jpg format on a USB drive or a CD
  • Cover letter
  • Recent bio or resume and statement
  • Website and/or Instagram handle (if applicable)
  • Any other pertinent information you think important to share
  • Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope, if you would like your materials returned
  • $25.00 handling fee

The Cabrillo Gallery offers over 1300 square feet of exhibition space, track lighting with dimmers, a high security alarm system, seven 4-foot-wide movable partition walls, (can be positioned on the dashed lines), a controlled air system, and an expansive western view of the Pacific Ocean at Monterey Bay. Ceiling height is 128" except as indicated by dashed lines which are lowered beams, 107" from the floor and 18" wide. See images of the space below.
