By joining our learning community, you can earn your first Business Information Worker certificate in just two semesters and you'll be prepared to work in a variety of business environments!
The BIW program is developed with local employers and provides job readiness in a short time.
Develop expertise in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, business technology, and other high-demand skills to be ready to work in any business office, while getting the added support of a Learning Community.
In this cohort program, you'll learn and collaborate with a dedicated group of peers while taking expert classes that cover topics ranging from basic computer learning to business writing and spreadsheets. Students who complete the program earn a BIW certificate, gain valuable office skills, and form lasting connections they carry into their professional journeys for years to come.

Acceptance, Orientation, and Next Steps
Applicants will be notified by email from the Computer Applications/Business Technology Department Chair of their eligibility to be accepted into the Business Information Worker Program (BIW). Students are required to attend a brief meeting before acceptance, and a mandatory one-day orientation before the start of the term. Accepted students will be informed how and when to register for their classes. Students in the BIW program will have guaranteed placement in all required CABT courses for the length of the BIW program. If you have questions, or would like to check on the status of your application, please email the CABT Department Chair.

Computer Proficiency (CABT-101)
Computer proficiency skills for beginning computer users including the use of Word, Excel, Windows, file management, e-mail, internet research, and creating a simple web page.
Computer Keyboarding (CABT 110A-C)
Learn alphabetic keyboarding skills using the touch technique, develop speed, and work on increasing accuracy in a hands-on, self-paced format
Social Media for Business (CABT 108)
Explore tools for applying social media to business, including social networking sites, contact management tools, web conferencing, and writing for social media.
Business & Tech Writing (CABT 157)
Discover techniques for composing, organizing, editing, and revising business and technical writing. Includes professional report writing, workplace writing, and writing for electronic and paper publication.
