Jobs that ask you to deposit a check or make a large purchase you'll be reimbursed for (i.e. gift cards, cashier's checks, etc.), promise a large salary or bonus for little work, or jobs where you don't speak to anyone "live" before you start, are likely fraudulent. Working on Campus

There are a variety of opportunities for students to work on campus and gain experience. In addition to valuable work-experience and a paycheck, student employees also receive benefits like a flexible work-schedule and the opportunity to develop relationships with staff who provide mentorship and ultimately may serve as professional references. Students can find these jobs posted on the Seahawk Job Board. Students enrolled in 6 or more units are eligible to work part-time on campus within a variety of departments.

Besides general on campus jobs, Cabrillo also offers Federal Work Study positions for qualified students. Students need to be enrolled in 6 units or more, complete the FAFSA and receive a Work Study Award through the Financial Aid Office. Funds are limited, so not all qualifying students will receive an award. For more detailed information go to the Financial Aid Office.

Using ChatGTP for interviewing preparation

Preparing for job interviews can be a daunting task, but ChatGPT makes it easier and more effective. Here's why:

  • Expert Guidance: ChatGPT uses advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to provide you with expert guidance. It's like having a knowledgeable coach at your fingertips, ready to help you navigate the interview process.

  • Personalized Practice: ChatGPT tailors its responses to your specific needs. It learns from your interactions and adapts to provide custom-tailored interview practice. This means you get the practice that's just right for you.

  • Realistic Interview Simulations: ChatGPT can simulate real interview scenarios. It can ask you common interview questions, engage in conversation, and even play the role of the interviewer. This realism helps you prepare for the unpredictability of real interviews.

  • Immediate Feedback: After responding to ChatGPT's questions, you'll receive instant feedback. It analyzes your responses, pointing out strengths and areas for improvement. This quick feedback loop accelerates your learning.

  • Repetition and Mastery: You can practice as many times as you like. You get better the more you practice. ChatGPT doesn't get tiring, so you can keep refining your skills until you're interview-ready.
