***Note: Extended day infant care is unavailable for 2022-23. Monthly rate is based on a 5-day per week part-day schedule.

***Note: Schedules less than 5-days per week is not available in the Toddler Classroom for 2022-2023.

•  Due to the high demand for infant & toddler care, we are unable to enroll children less than 5-days per week. Priority for enrollment is offered to those families who need five days per week of care. If we revise this policy, families who need fewer days will be placed on our Full Fee Waiting List until a space becomes available for the desired schedule.

•  The formula for calculating tuition fees is explained above. To provide consistency for family’s monthly budgets, fees will remain the same, regardless the number of operational days offered each month. Our daily rate x the number of attendance days, and divided by 9 equal payments (September-May) = monthly rate. Families are ARE NOT charged for holidays or any days that the Center is closed.

•  Our tuition schedule is based on several factors: 1.) Our teacher-to-child ratio, where the ratio is lower the tuition is higher to compensate for the additional staffing cost. 2.) As per the California Department of Education and Social Services Funding Terms and Conditions our daily rate is equal to or slightly above the state reimbursement rate, which we must follow. 3.) Average market rate of group care in Santa Cruz County.

•  A discount is provided to families with more than one child concurrently enrolled. A 20% discount is provided on the oldest child’s tuition. Cabrillo College Staff & Faculty will receive a 20% discount on their monthly tuition.

•  Families will be billed their monthly tuition fee by the 1st of the month. Tuition Payments are due on the 1st of each month, even if you have not received your invoice. If tuition is not received by the 10th of each month, a $25.00 late fee will be assessed to your family account. To keep our program fiscally solvent, we rely on your commitment to pay fees on time. Child care services may be suspended if your account becomes one-month past due. Excessive late tuition payments may be a cause for services to be terminated. If a situation occurs that impacts your ability to pay your tuition, please share your special circumstances with our Administrative Assistant and/or Director, so we can support you.

•  We understand there are times when arriving late is beyond your control, therefore we offer a 10-minute grace period for those situations only. In order to cover the staffing cost for the extra time, late pick-up fees will be charged at the rate of $1.00 per minute (regardless of the reason). Families will receive a late-fee notice with the amount owed to the program within one day the late pick up occurred. Late fees are due upon receipt of invoice. Our late fee begins at 12:55 for a part-time schedule and 3:10pm for extended day schedule. If a family is continually late when picking their child up from Center, it may be cause for termination.

•  We do not offer refunds for absences, illness, family vacations, holidays, or unused child care services due to your choice to discontinue care. Families are required to provide a 30-day advance written notice prior to withdrawing from the program, or when making any schedule changes.

•  State grant sponsored subsidy fee assistance through the California Department of Education/Department of Social Services is available to families who qualify based on the need for care and total monthly income. If you feel you may qualify, please speak to our Children’s Center Administrative Assistant.
