Culinary Program

Cabrillo College offers its own culinary program. Work with professors from all backgrounds who care about encouraging and inspiring students to keep searching for new and better ways to be a chef. Attend lectures and labs and get hands-on experiences by working in Cabrillo College's own student-run local restaurant, Pino Alto Restaurant & Catering.

Our 60-credit Associates of Science Degree in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management will help qualify you for management level jobs in the future. Many of Cabrillo College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management classes transfer to other California university level schools should your path require a Bachelor or higher-level degrees.

Cabrillo College also offers this 16-credit Entry Level Cook Certificate of Achievement for any students entering CAHM. This program will break down every part of working in the culinary arts and hospitality industry, including preparation, appetizers, and sanitation.

Cabrillo College offers a 32-credit Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Certificate of Achievement for any students entering CAHM. This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience and on-the-job confidence by going through the same processes as professional culinary and hospitality managers.

This program will set you on the right track as you build networking skills and lasting friendships amongst career-oriented peers and dedicated professors. Face both the challenges and the rewards of the restaurant business, all while developing a strong understanding of running a kitchen.

Cabrillo College offers a 16-19 credits Entry Level Catering Certificate of Achievement for any students entering CAHM. If you dream of working for or starting your own catering company, this is the perfect certificate for you.

Catering requires the unique and complex skill of quantity cooking, which requires expanding a recipe and thinking in larger terms. Take what you know about the culinary arts and expand it into another realm. Learn how to professionally cater for any event, including weddings.
