Graphic design is a discipline that involves the creation of visual communication using a variety of tools and techniques. The goal of graphic design is to effectively communicate a message or idea to a specific target audience in a way that is aesthetically pleasing, visually impactful, and memorable. This is achieved through a combination of visual elements such as typography, images, color, and composition. Graphic designers use these elements to create designs that are both functional and visually appealing.
Graphic design is used in a variety of fields, including advertising, branding, packaging, digital media, and publishing. It can be found in many different forms, from UI/UX design, websites, logos, and brochures to product packaging, billboards, and book covers. The aim of graphic design is to create visual communication that is clear, effective, and memorable, and that makes a lasting impression on the viewer. A successful graphic design will effectively convey the intended message, evoke emotions, and create a visual experience that is both aesthetically pleasing and memorable.
This degree prepares students in the diverse field of graphic design including: visual branding, logo development, advertising, promotional design, digital publishing, interactive media, motion media, digital art, illustration, digital image editing, UI/UX design, web design, and emerging occupations.
