Personal Statement:
I am passionate about providing student athletes with tools to help them to be autonomous problem solvers in the face of adversity. I teach athletes the importance of respect, selflessness, and commitment - knowing that these values will help them succeed after their last play on a volleyball court.
Background:
I attended the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Environmental Studies. I played for the UCSC men’s volleyball program for four years. While at UCSC, I led three teams to the NCAA D3 National Championship Tournament. I was a team captain for two years and received recognition as an Honorable Mention All-American in 2015.
I have coached youth volleyball programs in Santa Cruz since 2014 while implementing evidence based practices, principles, and philosophies from USA Volleyball and Gold Medal Squared. I am thankful for the knowledge my coaches, teammates, friends, and mentors have shared with me along his journey.
Prior to Cabrillo, I was the head women's assistant coach at UCSC and was named part of the Coaching Staff of the Year for the Coast to Coast Conference for two consecutive years. Under my time at UCSC, the team reached the NCAA championship tournament for the first time since 2015 and held a 37-9 record.
