My name is Deborah Partida. I am the Administrative Assistant for the Title V Transfer Pathways Department and help with the Cabrillo 2+2 CSUMB program.

I was born in Los Angeles and raised by my grandparents who immigrated from Mexico and started out as field workers traveling in and out of the United States. I moved to Santa Cruz after vacationing many times with my husband. We raised our children here who both are Cabrillo alumni.

I studied Early Childhood Education and worked in Education for many years. First as a Preschool teacher. Then after I had my first child, I changed careers and began working at the Live Oak School District as an Administrative Assistant for the Child Development Department and when my second child was born I decided to to transfer to an Elementary School in the same district working as the Principal’s Administrative Secretary working with grades K-5 this way I could have summers off with my children.

I am very excited to work in this department and with an entirely different age group. I'm looking forward to helping support students and staff in whatever way I can. I’m hoping to see some of the children, now young adults that I worked with over the years here at Cabrillo.

Nací en Los Ángeles y fui criado por mis abuelos que emigraron de México y comenzaron como trabajadores de campo que viajaban dentro y fuera de los Estados Unidos. Me mudé a Santa Cruz después de muchas vacaciones con mi esposo. Criamos a nuestros hijos aquí, ambos ex alumnos de Cabrillo.

Estudié Educación Infantil y trabajé en Educación durante muchos años. Primero como maestra de preescolar. Luego, después de tener a mi primer hijo, cambié de carrera y comencé a trabajar en el Distrito Escolar de Live Oak como Asistente Administrativo para el Departamento de Desarrollo Infantil y cuando nació mi segundo hijo, decidí transferirme a una Escuela Primaria en el mismo distrito trabajando. como Secretaria Administrativa del Director trabajando con los grados K-5 de esta manera podría tener los veranos libres con mis hijos.
