Associate Faculty, Faculty Emerita
Early Childhood Education
Building 1500

I grew up in New Jersey, and moved to San Francisco, California after I completed my Elementary Education Teaching Credential, with an Early Childhood emphasis, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology, from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

After teaching children for several years I returned to the East Coast and completed my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education and Curriculum Development at Columbia University, Teachers College, in New York City.

I returned to California and lived in Menlo Park, then in San Jose, and finally moved to Santa Cruz County in 1996! I live in Scotts Valley with my husband, we have two grown children and two grandchildren, all of whom live in Santa Cruz County (I am so lucky to have them all so close!!!).

Over the years I have worked with children ranging in age from infants through third grade and I have taught in many different types of programs, including: Private and State Funded Infant, Toddler and Preschool programs, a Parent Co-Op Toddler program, University Lab School Toddler and Preschool programs, Montessori schools and both Public and Private Kindergarten through third grade classrooms.

I began teaching for the Early Childhood Education Department at Cabrillo College in 2001. It is my honor to work with those who care for our youngest citizens, early childhood professionals! My goal is to support Early Childhood Education students with the knowledge and skills they need to provide the highest quality care for children and their families.
