Nancy Kvam holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance with Certification in Instrumental Music, specializing in violin, viola, chamber music and has Suzuki Violin Training on levels 1-8. She coaches her students in the MTAC Certificate of Merit program and often serves as an evaluator for the MTAC Northern California Certificate of Merit program .

Nancy's violin studies have included working with the Concertmasters of the St. Louis Symphony, San Francisco Ballet and participating in Master Classes with the Guaneri String Quartet and Beaux Arts Trio.

Nancy is a violinist with the Santa Cruz Symphony (for many years), has been Concertmaster of Cabrillo Stage, and has performed in the Monterey Symphony and Monterey County Pops! for many years.

Nancy teaches private violin, viola, piano and chamber music ensembles in her studio. She works in the Cabrillo College Music Department and is the Artistic Director of the Cabrillo Youth Strings Program, where she directs the string orchestra and chamber music programs. She conducts various Cabrillo Youth Strings orchestras and teaches in the chamber music program. Nancy has taught in many public and private school string programs in Santa Cruz County for many years.
