First Semester:
Choose one or more of the following courses
ECE 31 or ECE 131 (No pre-requisite)
ECE 32 or 142 (No pre-requisite)
ECE 53 & 53 L (No pre-requisite
Second Semester:
Chose at least one, preferably two or more of the following courses (include any from above not already taken)
ECE 51 (Pre-requisite = ECE 31 / 131)
ECE 54 (Pre-requisite = ECE 31 / 131) (Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment: ECE 51 and ECE 53)
ECE 59 (No pre-requisite)
Third and Fourth Semesters:
Chose at least one, preferably two or more of the following courses (include any from above not already taken)
ECE 34 (Pre-requisite = ECE 31 / 131) ~ offered both semesters
ECE 52 (Pre-requisite = ECE 32 or 142) ~ only offered in Fall
ECE 135 (Pre-requisite = ECE 31 / 131) ~ only offered in Fall ECE 146 (Pre-requisite = ECE 31 / 131) ~ only offered in Spring
ECE 156 (Recommended prep = ECE 31 / 131 & ECE 53) ~ offered both semesters
ECE 158 (Pre-requisite = ECE 51 or concurrent) ~ only offered in Spring
General Education courses from areas required for the Teacher Permit & AS Degree*
In addition to 24 units of ECE, 16 units of general education are also required for the State of California Teacher Level Permit in the following four areas:
ENGLISH (e.g. ENG L C1000 or ESL 1A)
SOCIAL STUDIES (e.g. History, Women Studies, Psychology, Political Science)
HUMANITIES (e.g. Spanish, Art, Music)
MATH or SCIENCE (e.g. STAT C1000, ANTHR 1 and 1L)
* Consult a Cabrillo Counselor for AS in ECE degree requirements
