Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
It Is Our Responsibility
Community members have an important role in protecting children (anyone under the age of 18) from abuse and neglect. The California Community College Chancellor's Office has determined that all faculty and most classified employees are mandated reporters of child abuse. If you reasonably suspect a child is suffering abuse, you are required to report the abuse to law enforcement and/or Child Protective Services.

District Considerations:
Internal Reporting: State law does not require a mandated reporter to notify College administration of a report. The district encourages employees who file a report to notify College administration for purposes of awareness and expediting CPS investigations.
