Types of Aid
Cabrillo offers a variety of aid types for eligible students!
Financial Aid Available
Students with Bachelor's Degree
If you already have a Bachelor's degree you are not eligible for Federal or State grants such as the Pell Grant or Cal Grant.
Based on your financial aid application, you will be considered for the California College Promise Grant fee waiver as a California Community College student.
If you are eligible to complete a FAFSA you could also qualify for student loans or Federal Work Study (FWS). For more info on requesting loans as a BA student go here and for more info on FWS go here.
You can still apply for most scholarships, including the Cabrillo General Scholarship.
Understanding Your Offer Letter
Once a student's financial aid file has been completed and reviewed, the financial aid department will send them an email notifying them that their offer letter is available to be viewed online. To view your offer letter, go to Financial Aid Self-Service and select the current school year under 'Select An Award Year'. THE AWARDS ON THE OFFER LETTER ARE BASED ON FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT*. The actual amount disbursed will differ depending on your enrollment status.
*According to federal guidelines, 12 units constitute full-time enrollment. Please note that scholarships and Cabrillo Promise Program (CPP) do not fall under federal guidelines and may qualify for reduced course load through Accessibility Support Center Student (ASC).

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans are low-interest loans for students to help pay for educational related expenses.
Cabrillo recommends that students borrow only when it is absolutely necessary. Students who are planning to transfer should be aware that loans are generally the largest portion of a financial aid package at four-year colleges and should consider total educational indebtedness before borrowing at Cabrillo.
Loans must be repaid!
Please visit our Student Loans page for more information and for types of loans available at Cabrillo College
Scholarships
Scholarships are available each year for current students, enrolling high school graduates, and transferring students. They are awarded annually on a competitive basis, with consideration given to scholastic achievement, financial need, and student potential.
Visit our Scholarships page for more information and resources.

Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, both on and off-campus. There are several departments on campus that have positions to fill each semester on a first-come, first-served basis. Funds are limited, so not all qualifying students will receive an award.
