Participants Standing Outside on Student Equity Day

Professional Development

This 96-hour (3 hours per monthly session) professional learning opportunity is designed to help faculty, staff, and administrators become scholar-practitioners in educational justice. Through seven core courses, one elective, one symposium to present your action plan to the Cabrillo College community on Student Equity Day during Fall Flex Week, eight bi-monthly community of practice sessions during the fall and spring, and two one-on-one meetings with the Director of Student Equity and Success, you will have an opportunity to use critical action research to address a particular educational barrier among students from minoritized communities in your domain of influence so that you can create opportunities to increase their academic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal success. All books will be loaned to participants through the Office of Student Equity. As a note, those who have previously been a participant in the Student Equity Certificate Program, but were not able to complete the program due to their workload and/or the COVID-19 pandemic, will have first priority for enrollment during the 2022-2023 academic year.
