Geology

Geologists are trained to forecast and reduce risk from natural hazards, evaluate the availability of natural resources, educate the public, and provide expertise for building and construction work. Join our Geology club or one of our 1-credit field classes to get out and explore local geology. Our general education courses and Geology A.S.-T degree are transferable to UC and CSU.

Oceanography

Oceanographers work at sea, in coastal regions, and on land, using a variety of field methods and computer-based analysis. Many oceanographers start with a STEM major (such as Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Math) but develop a focus in Oceanography or Marine Science. We offer a Marine Science Certificate of Achievement, which can be completed to enhance any major or it's own.
