Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment can help students prepare for college, save on tuition costs, graduate faster, and explore careers!
What is dual enrollment?
Dual enrollment enables students (K-12th grade) or adult students in a GED/Adult School high school completion program to take college courses. These courses can be available in person at both Cabrillo campuses, at a high school, and online.
The benefits of dual enrollment
Save money on college! Dual enrollment students can take courses for free up to a certain amount of units per semester.
Earn a degree faster! Dual enrollment students are earning college credits, putting them on track to finish a degree faster.
Ability to explore interests, careers, and majors!
Transferablity! College credits earned through dual enrollment can often be transferable to other colleges or universites.
Dual enrollment students gain early college exposure, learning the college process, navigating student life, exploring education pathways, accessing resources, and making new friends!

Dual Enrollment Steps

Students ages 14+ apply online using the California Community Colleges (CCCApply) application for Cabrillo College.
Students age 13 and under need to obtain a paper admissions application from Cabrillo's Adimissions and Records Department.
First-time applicants will receive a welcome email with their Cabrillo student ID number from webreg@cabrillo.edu within 72 hours of applying. If you do not receive this email, contact the Admissions and Records Department. Returning students will continue to use their existing Cabrillo student ID number. Student applications remain active as long as they enroll in at least one course each year. If a student has not taken a course for more than one year, their application will expire and they must reapply.
Students must wait for the Admissions and Records department to process their application before moving on to the next step. Questions about the status of an application should be directed to Admissions and Records.

A K-12 Consent form or Adult Student consent form is required for all Dual Enrollment students. Consent forms are submitted online using the Cabrillo Etrive Central form called the Dual Enrollment eForm. We are unable to accept forms via email, in person, or by fax. Consent forms are processed in the order received and may take up to 7 business days.
Students will receive an email from Etrieve when their consent form is approved, declined or returned for correction. Students are responsible for monitoring the status of their form in the Etrieve Central system. Once approved, they may register for classes, and the consent form remains valid until high school graduation or GED completion.
