There are many ways to pay for college...
There are even options where someone else will foot the bill for you, through cash awards, grants and scholarships. Some programs are based on financial need, although certainly not all. It’s possible to receive scholarships for school on a competitive basis, with consideration given to academic promise, scholastic achievement and your student potential.
Financial aid can help you pay for mandatory college fees, textbooks, transportation, room and board and other educational expenses while attending Cabrillo. It would be well worth your time to explore what’s available and apply for appropriate programs. These include:
Also available is the Board of Governor's Enrollment Fee Waiver, which waives the unit enrollment fee for California residents at community colleges throughout the state.
Rest assured that the financial aid application process is completely confidential…and it’s free to apply. Learn how to apply and file a FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Aid) at www.fafsa.gov today to find out what’s available to help you pay for tuition.
Be sure to calculate the cost of textbooks into your budget, as these required materials are one of the biggest expenses you’ll face at Cabrillo. The good news is there are several programs that can offer some relief if funds are short: a textbook rental program from the bookstore, textbooks on reserve at the library, the Borrow-A-Book program, and Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) or Fast Track to Work book vouchers.
